Creativity and Genre

To begin with,  I believe that creativity is an essential aspect of completing this portfolio project. Creative process is needed to ensure that  my work stands out among others.  I've  previously mentioned that I chose to des ign a magazine for this assignment , and there are just so many genres to pick from.  When I was tasked with embarking upon this new endeavor in a field ripe with choices, I  concluded that I would  focus on  a  fashion magazine. Thi s  particular topic  falls under the general interest genre .   For this project I will have to  be i maginative  to appear original  and unique. Like Duncan  Wardle  says, “the world may be doing its best to inhibit or creative  expression,  but our childhood creativity doesn’t dissipate ,  it simply lies dormant waiting to be brought to life” (Ted Talk: The Theory of  Creativity).   He explains that  in a w...

To Team or Not to Team

I have decided to work independently on the portfolio project for AICE Media Studies . Many different  experiences have contributed to this decision.  In class we have read multiple enlightening articles,  took part  in  collaborating activities, and held discussions about team work.     For instance,  the social media peer account activity  was a n influential  factor in my resolve.  In this activity, I was given the task of analyzing a peer’s social media account   to get a better unders tanding of who they are.  After going through my partner's social media platforms, I came to realize that we are quite different .  The article by  John H. Bradley explains that, “ According to personality type theory, extroverts prefer the outside world of people and things, while introverts enjoy the inner world of concepts and ideas ”,  ( The effect of personality type on team performance). This the...

Decision Day

After participating in class tutorials of Premier Pro and InDesign, I had the impr ession that these programs would be difficult to use.  The  various features they offer are exceptional and would be perfect for  delivering a quality product.  When we were experimenting with the two software's I realized they are very important in putting together  my final project, whether it be a film or a magazine.     However,  with  the abundance of  appliances and tools  it will be challenging to learn how to use all of them.  Distinguishing between the different  utilities would be especially complicated.  One tool I precisely remember from the tutorial video of Premier Pro  was the razor tool.  I found out that this tool allows one to cut unwanted pieces out of the video . This can then help you to combine the parts of the video that you want in a specific order.  It is an essential tool in assembli...
